My Small Wedding Ideas

My husband and I had a small, immediate family only, wedding. There wasn't much of a need for a rehearsal dinner so instead we had our whole family go to a paint your own pottery studio (http://www.paintedbyu.com/). Being that all of my family lives out if state and our family members had spent very little time together if any, we thought this would be a great casual atmosphere for all the "get to know ya's." We asked each person to paint a piece of our everyday dinnerware (16 pieces) and had them each sign a platter I had painted a week earlier. We even painted these great ceramic solo cups to toast with since neither one of us drink alcohol. It was perfect!!

Refrigerator Magnet Upgrade

I sometimes wish I wasn't that person with magnets all over the refrigerator but then I wouldn't be my mothers daughter. :) Actually, my dad came up with this several years ago and I just fell in love with the idea. Now I see similar peel-and-stick versions selling for several dollars.

All you need is a few of those free magnets that come in the mail, a thin coat of glue from a glue stick and place your picture on top. Easy, fast and practically FREE of cost. Best of all, your friends and family can help hold that finger paint picture or A+ grade proudly in place instead of the random company that sent the free magnet. Win-win!! Happy crafting!!

CD case boxes

I finally decided to part with a bunch of old CD cases that I don't use anymore. I have used a multi-pocket storage case for years but never got rid of the cases, which takes up a lot of space. The repurpose addict that I am I was really struggling with letting go of these perfectly good jewel cases. The wheels started spinning and voila...great decorative boxes. You can leave the original music art in for a themed box or change out the cover for your own "art". The more I look at these the more I love them. I used a thin line of super glue since the surface is so smooth and they become that much more sturdy. These look great stacked too!!
